Updates and the Like....

I feel like I haven't been a very faithful blogger lately. It's not by choice it is truly that I feel like we have been gone every night lately which I am sick of by the way. I can tell it is May in my classroom. I don't exactly have the class from heaven to begin with and this time of year even the most well behaved class goes a little crazy. I have had several migraines lately which is rare anymore (praise the Lord) but I just feel stressed right now. And that is what causes them. It's nothing that June won't cure.

We finished the Q&A part of our homestudy. DHS officially knows everything there is to know about us. It was a great experience and God sent us Codi who was so pleasant to work with. In two weeks she is sending us our report and we have to sign it and then the homestudy is done!

On May 20th we finish our classes which will also be a big relief. Much of the content of the classes was common sense. Some of it was a flat out waste of time, but we were able to meet some wonderful adoptive and foster families that can completely relate to us and what we are doing. It is nice to have the support and encouragement of someone who is in the same boat.

We planned a fun 5 day vacation to Mexico at the end of July- we bought insurance on our trip based on the one in a million chance that we should get Gurt during that time but I am pretty positive that we will be sitting on the beach at that time. I can't think of a better reason than Gurt to cancel our vacation.

In other family news- there are two exciting things taking place:
1) Ryland's Grandma Mary is getting married! Tom is the lucky bachelor that gets to be with her. We are so excited for all that God has in store for those two crazy kids - we wish them all of the happiness and joy in the world. We are so blessed to get to bear witness to the marriage of a Grandparent. That is a joy that many never get to experience. We can't wait.
2) My baby brother is graduating on Friday. Laner- I am soooooo proud of you. Before you ever came to college I prayed that God would do two things. I prayed that He would take you in and have a relationship with you like nothing you had ever experienced- He answered and you are not the person that you were. You were always amazing, but now you are even better. I also prayed that God would give you friends that would spur you onto in your relationship with Christ. You have made so many wonderful friends and I am so proud of the company you keep. Way to go brother. It's time to work on a wife now- get busy!

Please keep me in your prayers, as I said I am experiencing a high volume of stress right now. Pray that I sleep well and that I deal well with my stress. Pray for Ryland too that he puts up with me in all of my madness. I am also very "homesick" for Gurt. I have minutes where I am so excited , others where I am scared, and still others where I am so anxious to hold our baby that my arms ache. I can't wait for the time to pass and for God to bring our sweet baby home. Keep Gurt in your prayers and pray as always for healthy, good nutrition, safety, someone to love him, and for his family. Pray that God is still preparing us all for what lies ahead.

We love you all.
